Second Chances First is a desire to spearhead a call to action an effort that will spotlight societal issues that yield compounding adverse effects on families and communities. When the organization's founders realized how far and deep the residual effects are when a person makes a mistake, has fulfilled his/her obligation to the court, and still encounters systematic barriers they knew action needed to be taken to change that. Having been personally and profoundly negatively impacted by the condemnation of a tarnished record, they have an overwhelming sense of obligation to serve those in need with kindness, acceptance, and support that builds self-optimism, and a foundation for a positive future. It is time to stand up and be counted. It is time to reach out to those for whom despair has become all too familiar. It is time to give of ourselves to create a lasting legacy of hope.
